Introductory boat charter course — ready to sail on your own

Your own week in the archipelago. A safe and easy sailing family boat with toilet and inboard engine, ready-made route suggestions and everything you need on board.

Do you dream of a week in the archipelago with your own boat, but don't feel quite ready to throw loose on your own? That's exactly what this day is for.

Together with one of our instructors, you will go through the boat from front to stern: safety equipment, engine, LPG, toilet and everything else you need to keep track of. Then we sail. You get to practice hoisting, tearing and maneuvering, and we add and lay out until it sits, both at the dock and with anchor.

Equally important is what happens before posting. We show you how we think when we plan a day in the archipelago: how to read the weather forecast, choose a route according to the wind direction, find a sheltered night harbor and plan the addition before you arrive. You get our tried and tested route suggestions and tips on guest harbours and bays.

By the end of the day, you'll know how the boat works, how to handle it in port and how to add up your week. The course is also the requirement for renting our boats, so it is your ticket out into the archipelago.

• Number: Max 4 people per boat
• Prerequisites: Basic course in sailing or equivalent
• Contents: Boat and safety briefing, sailing, engine management, dock docking, anchorage, route planning
• Includes: Instructor, boat, life jacket, route suggestions
• Rental requirements: At least one person per boat, the skipper, must have passed this course or Level 2 to rent Sailstars boats
• Bring: Clothes according to the weather, soft shoes with light sole, lunch and water
